She/They
Rosalina (Lina) Petronino is a third-year Journalism and Psychology student with a minor in English at Northeastern University. She served as the Editor in Chief of Burning Rose for two years and currently serves as YDSA Northeastern’s Communication Director. In her time at YDSA, she helped form Burning Rose, curated its first and second print editions, and helped format its website. She has been involved with YDSA since her first semester at Northeastern and has actively participated in its housing and communications working groups. Lina grew up in Boonton Township, a conservative suburb in northern New Jersey, where she led her high school’s Young Progressives club and newspaper, The Mountaineer as co-president and Editor in Chief, respectively. She was introduced to socialism by Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign and has been a socialist ever since. She is passionate about bringing awareness to societal injustices through her writing, and specializes in opinion, global, and Boston reporting. In the future, she hopes to broaden Burning Roses’ audience and to continue reporting about the world’s injustices.
