Burning Rose is Young Democratic Socialists of America (YDSA) Northeastern’s student-run political zine. YDSA is the youth wing of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the largest socialist organization in America. Despite YDSA’s commitment to socialism, Burning Rose and YDSA Northeastern welcome all who support left-leaning political viewpoints, regardless of the ideology. As leftists, we believe that the economy should be run democratically by workers, the U.S. empire must be dismantled globally, and that the liberation of all oppressed peoples requires the abolition of capitalism. We can only achieve these goals through unifying the working class through our common struggle.
Since its creation in January 2021, Burning Rose has published countless articles that support YDSA’s mission against the profit motive, discrimination, imperialism, and other forms of oppression. We publish a print edition of our best articles throughout the year once at the end of each academic school year.
