John Cervantes is a second-year History and Political Science undergraduate student and a writer and editor for Burning Rose, as well as a Research Coordinator and Lead Organizer for Northeastern YDSA and a volunteer with 826 Boston. His academic research focuses on the development of Latin American politics from the conquest to the present, mainly focusing on the left-wing populist movements of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. He is an aspiring educator who studies the inequities in the U.S. education system, particularly emphasizing advancing lower-income school achievement.
